Main Street Transportation

[Disney Vacation Planner]

At A Glance A great way to get from one end of Main Street to the other there are varoius forms of transportation available.

There are a number of vehicles which regularly travel along Main Street, offering free rides to guests along the way providing there is room, such as:

  • The Horse Drawn Trolleybuses are pulled by large horses, of a breed that would once have pulled farm machinery. The wear plastic shoes which are both easier in their hooves than metal shoes, and cause no damage to the Main Street surface. When the horses aren't pulling the trolleybus, they live in the Car Barn at the very start of Main Street, or when not in the park, in a barn at the Fort Wilderness Campground.

  • Omnibus

  • The Main Stret Fire Engine is usually found either on display near the Firehouse which adjoins City Hall, or somewhere in between the Firehouse and Conderellas Castle.

  • The Horseless Carriages and Jitneys are vehicles manufactured by Walt Disney Imagineering, and are made to resemble various vehicles that existed around the turn of the 20th century. They are outfitted with engines from the Wiley's Jeep, and have specially made exhaust systems which are designed to make a sound resembling the early engines.
