Universe of Energy

[Disney Vacation Planner]

At A Glance Now featuring Ellen's Energy Adventure a tongue in cheek look at energy conservation hosted by Ellen Degeneres and Bill Nye.

Ellen's Energy Adventure is the result of a rehab of the venerable Universe of Energy attraction. This ride features Ellen Degeneres, star of one of Disney's TV sitcoms, who is in the midst of a personal energy crisis.

Ellen dreams that she is on the game show Jeopardy, competing against an old schoolday rival (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) and Albert Einstein (played by himself, ostensibly). In short, she's being wasted by her old rival (Al seems to be lost in thought and doesn't really play much into the final outcome of the match).

Fortunately, Bill Nye the science guy, another Disney character creation, comes to the rescue and gives Ellen some personal tutoring just in the nick of time. Along the way, the theatre itself turns into a Jurrasic Park.

Overall the attraction lasts for 45 minutes per sitting - 8 minutes of which is taken up with a cinematic pre-show, and 37 minutes taken up with the theatre ride itself.

In the recent rehab of this ride, the dinos were given a facelift, too, and as a result are now colorful and animated than before (in line with current thinking about how they may have looked/behaved in real life)

Since this attraction in a theatre show, it has a very large capacity, and as a result it's rare for everyone that is waiting not to get into the next show.
