Adventureland Treasure Hunt

[ Disney Vacation Planner ]

At A Glance Game played in teams, searching for a golden idol hidden somewhere in Adventureland.

The AdventureLand Challenge Treasure Hunt was a game played by 'teams' of players who searched for a small golden idol, hidden somewhere in AdventureLand. It was held at several specific times during the day. Generally the game took around 20 minutes to play, and could be payed either in a group or alone.

The game started at the Adventureland Challenge sign near the entrance to the Tiki Birds. At the start of the game a Cast Member (CM) explained that the Golden Idol Treasure was missing. They then gave the participants a map which contained the first clue. Once you've figured out the cryptic clue you headed off to the appropriate location to seek for any necessary information along with the next clue.

Each clue also required guests to collect a specific piece of information from each location.

Once all the clues had been rerieved, if they were turned over they'd show a puzzle which when solved would show where the Golden Idol was located. You then needed to be the first person or group to find the Idol at the specified location, and then return it to the starting point. In order to win the game you also needed to have written down all the information you were told to obtain!

The winning team / person usually got a certificate and a prize, which may have been a 'jump the queue pass' for any MK ride, or a free meal or drinks. The second placed team often got a 'jump the queue' pass for a specific ride in the Magic Kingdom, which is often the Jungle Cruise.

The Adventure Hunt game was eventually discontinued at the start of "2,000".
