Star Tours

[ Disney Vacation Planner ][WDW Home] [Animal Kingdom Attractions] [Magic Kingdom Attractions] [Epcot Attractions] [Disney MGM Studios Attractions]

At A Glance Great motion simulator ride, all the better for being supported by the Star Wars storyline and video.

The Star Tours attraction, inspired by George Lucas' Star Wars films, is an enclosed simulator ride, which synchronises the latest in motion simulator technology with a stunning film sequence to provide an impressive ride.

During the attraction, (once in the simulator) guests are supposed to be taken on a leisurely cruise to the Moon of Endor, but the 5-minute ride soon turns into a deep-space fight and chase sequence, which sees the small craft dodging asteroids, along with a number of laser toting enemy fighters.

As simulators go, some of the newer generation are certainly a litle more violent, and maybe because of the specific film sequences used, more realistic (Wild Arctic at Seaworld for one), however, Star Tours remains a classic simulator attraction, which is well worth the queue.

NOTE: because of the erratic motion of the ride, it is not recommended for anyone with a back, neck, or heart complaint. Also the ride carries a minimum height restriction of 40 inches. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 3 are not permitted in the simulator.
