Voyage of the Little Mermaid

[ Disney Vacation Planner ][WDW Home] [Animal Kingdom Attractions] [Magic Kingdom Attractions] [Epcot Attractions] [Disney MGM Studios Attractions]

At A Glance Great show featuring combination of live action and puppetry.

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a 17-minute musical show, featuring live actors, along side some well crafted puppets. It is one of the most popular shows at the Disney MGM Studios, so there's often quite a queue, but the theatre seats plenty of people, so a large queue doesn't necessarily mean a long wait.

Inside the theatre the underwater theming by the Disney Imagineers is as excellent as ever, and even extends to a "water curtain" at the very front of the stage. Special effects throughout the show, including cascading water, lasers, and a very powerful lightning storm make it one show that really shouldn't be missed.

Songs from the Little Mermaid film are scattered throughout the show, along with brief clips from the film to provide background to the show. Characters like Flounder, Sebastian, and several others are provided by the skilled puppeters.

NOTE: The best seating position to get the full effect of both the performance and special effects is towards the back of the theatre, ideally as close to the middle of a row as possible.
