World Showcase - Germany

[Disney Vacation Planner]

At A Glance Germany is the fourth country encountered in a clockwise journey around the World Showcase, in between China and Italy.

Germany is the fourth country encountered in a clockwise journey around the World Showcase, in between China and Italy.

Germany offers very little in the form of entertainment apart from the various street entertainers and players that patrol the pavillion.

The lively Biergarten however does feature a quite good German "Ompah" band, along with large portions of German sausage, rotisserie cooked chicken, and saurkraut.

Saurkraut incidentally is pickled and often salted white cabbage, which has a distinctive and definitely aquired taste, and isn't to everyone's liking. Be prepared with the camera for some excellent "Kodak Moments" if the children ask for any!

Germany has the highest number of shops of any of the World Showcase pavillions, including chocolate stores, wine stores, china and crystal stores, toy stores, and of course no German (Bavarian) town would be complete without a Cuckoo Clock shop!.

Originally, the Germany pavillion was supposed to have featured a Rhine boat ride, dealing with German folklore. The building to house the ride was completed, but for some reason the ride itself was never built, and the building is now used for storage.
