Orbitron
At A Glance |
Visually excellent ride although
lacking in any form of excitement, though better than the
Dumbo attraction as a result of the theming. Young children
must be accompanied by an adult. |
The
Orbitron is a classical fairground style attraction located in
Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris very similar in many respects
to Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction in Fantasyland, although
this time the ride is themed with small flying space craft instead
of flying elephants.
As with the Dumbo ride, the vehicles (of which there
are 12 in total each seating 3 passengers) feature a large lever
which is used to control the height at which the vehicle 'flys'.
When pushed forwards the ride vehicle climbs, whilst pulling the
lever back causes the ride vehicle to descend.
If anything the attraction is more of a visual spectacle
for onlookers than for the guests riding. The ride doesn't offer
any particularly good views over the theme park, and whilst it
may be mildly exciting to young children, they're more likely
to prefer Dumbo even though the theming isn't as good as with
the Orbitron.
