River Rogue Keelboats

At A Glance Styled like a pair of ninteenth century keelboats the Coyote and the Raccoon are both real boats, powered by diesel engines, which traverse the Rivers of the Far West.

As with the Mark Twain and Molly Brown paddle steamers, the River Rogue Keelboats constantly circle the island in the middle of the Rivers of the Far West on which the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is built.

Styled like a pair of ninteenth century keelboats the Coyote and the Raccoon are both real boats, powered by diesel engines, and steered by Disney cast members who stand at the stern providing an ongoing commentary.

Contrary to popular belief they aren't running around a pre-destined underwater track.

Overall the ride is somewhat quicker than the trip around the island by Paddle Steamer, taking only 8 minutes or so to complete, and again it's a trip to do on a hot day rather than an overcast and raining day. It's also not a ride worth queueing for more than a few minutes at, and certainly not for the 20 - 30 minutes that the queue frequently builds up to on warm sunny days.
