Newport Bay Club
The
Newport Bay Club is located on the shores of Lake Disney, at the
far end of the lake away from the Festival Disney area, and close
to Sequoia Lodge. It's approximately a 15 minute walk from the
theme park gates, and is a moderate class hotel.
The hotel was designed by renowned architect Robert
Stern to resemble the classical building along the American Atlantic
seaboard, and it bears more than a passing resemblance to the
Yacht and Beach club resorts at the Walt Disney World resort in
Florida.
Inside the hotel, the restful theme is echoed with
pastel blues and greys, whilst the bedrooms and corridors continue
the nautical theme with porthole windows and ships tiller headboards.
Rooms
The Newport Bay Club is a moderate hotel, with 1,098
rooms, each accommodating up to four people in two double beds.
All of the bedrooms feature air conditioning, en-suite bathroom,
a telephone and television with English speaking channels.
The Castle Club theme of the Disneyland Hotel and
the Hotel New York is duplicated at the Newport Bay Club in the
form of the "Admiral's Floor". A select floor featuring
the better rooms and suites, again with its own checkin area,
porters, 24 hour room service, hairdryers and bath robes.
Whilst most rooms accommodate four people, some of
the Lake-View rooms, and the suites will comfortable house up
to six people.
The price of the room usually includes a free continental
buffet-style breakfast. Other breakfast selections are available
at an extra charge.
