Disneyland Hotel
The
Luxury class Disneyland Hotel is an imposing five storey building
located directly in front of one of the main entrances to the
theme park, and similarly to the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney
World is themed to resemble a the turn of the century Victorian
palace found in the costal towns of Florida and California.
The hotel has 479 rooms, and 21 suites, making it
one of the lowest capacity of any of Disney's resort hotels.
Externally the Disneyland Hotel is one of the most
recognisable landmarks at the resort, decorated in a distinctive
pink colour, with an almost burgandy coloured roof, and a distinctive
design of a central building flanked on either side by wings bristling
with pinnacles, gables and cupolas. It is very much a family hotel,
and the classic Disney animated characters abound in the hotel's
theming. Immediately in front of the hotel's main building is
the Fantasia Gardens - a smallish area of flowers and nicely landscaped
gardens.
As with the Grand Floridian, the entrance lobby is
on a huge scale, and is very impressive, decorated in pastel colours,
and with a deep red carpet and wicker, leather and fabric covered
furniture strategically placed, and again an enormous glass chandalier,
adorned with cascading ivy leaves graces the centre of the room,
and like the Grand Floridian, the hotel also features a promenade
with an elegant lounge featuring a piano, frequently used to provide
a little live background music.
All guests of the Disneyland Hotel have access to
the hotel's health club, indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi
and the Mad Hatter's video games arcade.
Rooms
The Disneyland Hotel has 479 rooms and 21 suites,
many of which have excellent views of the theme park as a result
of the hotel's location at the park gates. Rooms are large enough
to comfortably house a family of four, most with two double beds,
and en-suite bathroom, and air conditioning.
All rooms feature a large television with English
speaking channels, housed in a cabinet with clothes storage below,
a table and chairs, a hair dryer, telephone and a lockable mini
bar (keys available from reception when checking in).
The hotel also reserves the top two floors, containing
the best rooms and suites for the "Castle Club" - an
exclusive set of rooms overlooking the theme park itself, or the
hotel's Fantasia Gardens area. The Castle Club has it's own private
check-in desk in the main reception area, a private lift, and
its own lounge serving complimentary soft drinks and snacks.
The price of the room usually includes a free continental
buffet-style breakfast. Other breakfast selections are available
at an extra charge.

The resort Health Club has a heated swimming pool,
spa, steam room, sauna and Gym,
There's a children's club for younger family members
(4 to 11 years), with supervised activities and interactive (mostly

games arcade for those a little older.

of Disney branded souvenirs.

side a selection of fine French and Californian wines, all with
a commanding view over the theme park.
Inventions is a hot and cold buffet style restaurant,
providing a wide selection of wines, and food specialities from
the New World. The restaurant gains its name from it's Inventions
theme, and is decorated with varoius early planes, cars etc. Inventions
is also the location of the morning character breakfasts, bookable
through the hotel's reception.
Café Fantasia serves snacks and hot drinks
in a Fantasia inspired setting, whilst the Main Street Lounge
serving a selection of cocktails is a piano bar with a view over
the Main Street Station,
