What is Early Entry ?

Last revised 15-Mar-2000.
[Disney Vacation Planner]

Disney's Early Entry days are days when various Walt Disney World theme parks open early for those guests that are staying in official Walt Disney World property hotels.

During these early entry days, guests staying in one of the official Disney hotels are allowed access to selected Walt Disney World theme parks 90 minutes before the normal gate opening time in order to allow them to enjoy the attractions while (hopefully) there are fewer people around.

There is no charge imposed for early entry, but valid theme park passes are required.

The early entry programme is quite popular amongst resort guests, so for anyone not staying in a Disney hotel, and therefore not qualifying for early entry into the parks, it is still worth planning the visit around early entry days in order to avoid the early entry day parks. The reason for this is that the early entry parks will already be quite busy with resort guests by the time the gates open to everyone else, so all of the popular rides will already have queues.

Theme Park Early Entry Days
The Magic Kingdom Monday, Thursday
EPCOT Tuesday, Friday
Disney MGM Studios Wednesday, Sunday

NOTE that although selected theme parks may open early to resort guests on a couple of days each week, in each case there will only be limited attractions in operation within the park, because many attractions don't start admiting guests until the official park opening time.
