and is the busiest water park in America. Wet 'n' Wild is
located on International Drive at the junction with Republic.
It is fully staffed with certified life guards, and all pools
are seasonally heated. All-day lockers and shower facilities
are available, and tubes and towels can be rented. It's possible
to use your own floatation devices if required, but they must
be approved by park staff first.
As with most of the areas water parks, food and picnic lunches
are allowed, but all beverages must be in plastic containers
since no glass bottles or containers are permitted within
the park area. Alcoholic beverages are also prohibited.
It features all of the usual Water-Park attractions including
a meandering relaxing tube ride around the park (Lazy River),
a thrilling 7-story water slide (Der Stuka), various tube
rides and slides including an all-enclosed 500 foot dark tube
ride (The Black Hole), and a 6-story family inner-tube ride
(Bubba Tub). The Surge is a 600 feet 5-passenger tube ride.
Wet 'n' Wild also has a pool area with a wave machine and
a beach area, while Bubble Up is a pool area with a large
climbable plastic dome topped by a water fountain., and a
lagoon area with a half mile cable-operated water (knee) skiing
area, and rides on bouncy-tubes pulled by Yamaha Wave Runners
(nominal charge).
Admission to the park is charged, but discounts are available
for late admission (after 15:00 PM off-peak, after 17:00 PM

NOTE: Wet 'n' Wild (Orlando) is the busiest water park in
America, and is now owned by the Universal Studios Recreation
Group. Other Wet 'n' Wild parks in Las Vegas, and soon in
Brazil, Mexico, and other locations in Florida are owned by
the Ogden Corp. of New York, who also own the rights to the

Ogden also owns Silver Springs near Ocala and an adjacent
water park, Wild Waters. It also is building a jazz-inspired
theme park in New Orleans, set to open during the year 2000.
